Programmed and hosted by Justin Henry Langlois (Programmer for the Fantasia Film Festival with an MA in Film from Concordia) and local heartthrob Alex Cartier (Turbo Haüs, Hashed Out)!

This month: a reappraisal of recent remakes, FRIGHT NIGHT 3D and PIRANHA 3D!

Craig Gillespie's FRIGHT NIGHT 3D [2011]. 
A remake of the 1985 classic, written by Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel) and directed by Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl)! Charley (Anton Yelchin, RIP) suspects that his mysterious new neighbor, Jerry (Colin Ferrel) might be a vampire! A zippy, fun update, with a suprisingly good performance from Colin Farrell! Also featuring Toni Collette, David Tennant, Imogen Poots, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse! 

Alexandre Aja's PIRANHA 3D [2010]. 
Aja takes the basic premise of Joe Dante's 1978 original and turns everything up to 11! When an underwater tremor releases prehistoric super-piranha into the waters of Lake Victoria during Sprink Break weekend, it's up to Jake (Steven R McQueen), his crush Kelly (Jessica Szohr), sheriff mom (Elisabeth Shue), and her deputy (Ving Rhames) to try to put a stop to the feeding frenzy before it's too late! Featuring Christoper Lloyd, and an amazing, scenery chewing villain role for Jerry O'Connell!
